The story behind our Atawhai Creative logo holds a profound significance, reflecting the deep-rooted values and principles that define our organisation. Atawhai, a Māori word meaning "kindness" or "care," embodies the very essence of our mahi and our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the world.

 

At the heart of the Atawhai logo, three maunga (mountains) stand prominently, representing significant aspects of our organisation's core values. Our maunga hold immense importance for us as Māori, intricately woven into our heritage. Each peak carries a rich connection with local Iwi (tribes), featuring prominently in our pūrākau and named after our tūpuna. Our maunga not only hold spiritual significance but also form the very foundation of our cultural identity. Regarded as living entities infused with mauri and wairua, our maunga encapsulate the essence of our Māori worldview and values.

 

The first maunga symbolises Whanaungatanga, the value of "relationships". Understanding our clients' needs begins with building strong and meaningful connections. Whanaungatanga underscores the importance of establishing trustworthy relationships with our clients and stakeholders.
